Slovakia’s New Immigration Law Amendments

On Slovakia has introduced important amendments to its immigration laws, set to take effect on 1 March 2025. These changes aim to digitize immigration processes, improve efficiency, and enhance the security of Ukrainian asylum holders.

Digitization of Services: Foreigners will now be able to use electronic services for various applications, such as residence renewals and visas, making the process quicker and more convenient.

Enhanced Security for Asylum Holders: Ukrainian asylum holders will receive ID cards, which will improve security and mobility for these individuals.
Accommodation Adjustments: New migrants from Ukraine will experience a reduced stay period in asylum facilities, alongside updated accommodation allowances.
